Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team suffered an unfortunate case of deja vu in Saturday's 56-47 loss to Illinois College in Flood Arena.
Like Friday, Beloit built a halftime advantage only to see it slip away in the second half.
The Bucs jumped out quickly on Saturday, scoring eight of the game's first ten points and pushing their lead as high as 15, that at 30-15 with 3:08 left before the break. IC started to cut into the lead late but Beloit led at halftime 33-22 after Kandace Fox hit a three-pointer four seconds before the buzzer.
The second half was much different. A 17-5 Lady Blues run in the first 7:35 of the half gave them their first lead of the game at 39-38. The Buccaneers retook the lead minutes later only to see Illinois College take the lead for good at the 7:06 mark. IC built their lead up to 12 with ten seconds left before Lauren McNanna hit a three-pointer with three seconds left for the final score.
McNanna led the way with a career-high 14 points, the only Buccaneer in double figures. Kandace Fox and Jenna Larsen each added eight points.
Beloit looks to get on the right side of the W/L column on Wednesday night when they host St. Norbert College. Tipoff is at 5:00 p.m.
