Beloit College seniors Tony Baratti, a linebacker from Arlington Heights, Illinois, and Andrew Christensen, an all-purpose back from Janesville, Wisconsin, have been selected to play in the second annual DIII Football Senior Classic at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia on Friday night, December 3.

The Classic brings together players from 238 NCAA Division III Football teams, divided into North and South squads.

Salem Stadium is also the site of the NCAA Division III Football National Championship Game, which will be played on Saturday, December 18.

Baratti, a three-time First Team All-Midwest Conference selection, was the MWC’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year this season.  He led the MWC in tackles with 110, the third season he topped the century mark, and was second in tackles for loss with 15.5.  He finished his career at Beloit as the program’s all-time leader in tackles with 434.  He was also named Beloit’s MVP for the third straight season.

Christensen, a two-time First Team All-MWC performer and five-time honoree, completed his career as Beloit’s all-time leader in kickoff return yardage with 2,389 and was second in career all-purpose yardage with 4,549.  He was third in the league in all-purpose yardage this season with 136.4 yards per game.  He also had two kickoff return touchdowns, which gave him 22 career TDs by rushing, receiving or kick returns.

The DIII Football Senior Classic is run by the Collegiate Development Football League and was put together in order to showcase football talent throughout NCAA Division III.

The game will be broadcast on the internet at www.knoxivi.com.
