Beloit, WI -- The Olde English Classic is as much a part of Homecoming at Beloit College as the traditional Homecoming Football Game. And Saturday Beloit had the top runner across the finish line in both the Women's and Men's races.
Lauren Hall captured the Women's Collegiate Race and Eric Koenig took the Men's Collegiate to lead the way for both squads.
The Beloit Women finished fourth as a team while the Men were third. Sauk Valley College won the Women's race and Milwaukee School of Engineering took the Men's.
Hall finished in 21:00.7 for the Women. Gabbie Gonzales was tenth in 22:35.9 while Claire Holdinghaus was third in 24:35.3.
Koenig paced the Men in 27:16.4 followed by Greg Schalla in seventh in 28:26 and Nestor Zavala in 28:54.9.
The Buccaneers now have a week off before returning to action on October 9 at the Wartburg College Pre-Nationals Meet in Waverly, Iowa. The race will be run on the same course as the NCAA Division III National Meet in November.
