Bucs Split Pair of Matches at Monmouth Tournament

Monmouth, IL -- The Beloit College Volleyball team split a pair of matches for the second time in the young season as they finished 1-1 at the Monmouth College Tournament on Saturday.

The Bucs opened play with a 3-0 loss to Cornell College.  The Rams took the match 25-15, 29-27, 25-15.  Laura Toth had 11 kills and a .500 attack percentage while Tess Jacquez had ten kills.  Caitlin O'Leary had 24 set assists and Mary Parker 20 digs.

In the second match the Buccaneers won the third and fourth sets for a 3-1 win over North Park University, winning 25-17, 22-25, 25-12, 25-17.

Jacquez recorded 18 kills while Toth had 13 and a .600 attack percentage.  O'Leary finished with 37 set assists and Parker 26 digs.

O'Leary was named to the seven-player All-Tournament Team at the close of the day.

The Buccaneers play their first dual match of the season on Tuesday night when they travel to Aurora University.  Action begins at 7:00 p.m.  They then play at the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Bloomington, Illinois.
