BUCS SLOTTED SIXTH IN MWC PRE-SEASON WOMEN’S SOCCER POLL
Ripon, WI – The Beloit College Women’s Soccer team is picked to finish sixth in 2010 in a vote of league coaches. The Conference Office released the poll this afternoon.
Carroll University, with eight first-place votes, is picked to win their second straight title and their third in the last four seasons. Lake Forest College received the other two first-place votes and were picked second. St. Norbert College and Grinnell College were projected at third and fourth, respectively.
Lawrence University falls in at fifth just ahead of the Bucs, who are followed by Monmouth College, Ripon College, Knox College and Illinois College.
Beloit finished 8-9-0 overall last season, 4-5-0 in MWC play, which put them seventh in the league.
Liz Bartley begins her fifth season as head coach when the Buccaneers open their 2010 season on Wednesday, September 1, when they host UW-La Crosse at the Strong Complex Soccer Fields at 4:00 p.m., the first of three home games to open the season. The conference opener is at Lawrence University on Saturday, September 11.
