Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis team opened their season at the Strong Complex Tennis Courts on Saturday with a split of two matches, defeating Mount Mary College 9-0 before falling 5-4 to UW-Stevens Point.
Against Mount Mary, every player won, including the exhibition matches. According to longtime head coach Bob Hodge, that is a first for the program.
Against UWSP, the Buccaneers won two of the three Doubles matches, with Hannah Perwin and Erika Zevin winning 8-2 at #1 and Taylor Jones and Emeline Beck winning 9-8 (9-7) at #2).
The Pointers took the Singles competition 4-2 to win the match. Perwin at #1 and Ashley Miglin at #6 posted the wins, with Perwin winning the third set 10-3 in her match and Miglin winning in straight sets.
Beloit is back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Wisconsin Lutheran College at the Strong Complex. Action begins at 3:30 p.m.
