Bucs Slotted Sixth in MWC Pre-Season Coaches Poll

Ripon, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team has been picked to finish sixth in the Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Pre-Season Coaches Poll, which was released by the Conference office today.

Defending MWC Champion St. Norbert College, with seven first-place votes, earned the top spot followed by defending MWC Tournament Champion Ripon College with the remaining three first-place votes.

Carroll University was picked for third, followed by Lake Forest College, Illinois College, the Buccaneers, Monmouth College and Grinnell College.

Knox College was picked for ninth and Lawrence University tenth.

Beloit finished 15-9 overall last season, 12-4 in the MWC, and earned the league's #2 seed in the MWC Tournament under head coach Don Adams, who is entering his fifth season at the helm.

They open their 2009-10 season on Saturday, November 21, at Carthage College in Kenosha. They play their home opener, and their only home game before Christmas, on Tuesday, November 24, against Loras College at 5:30 p.m. in Flood Arena.
