Appleton, WI -- Patrick Duvall won his fourth career Midwest Conference Championship to help the Beloit College Men's Swimming & Diving team hold on to sixth place in the team standings. The Women's squad slipped from fifth to seventh in the standings.
Grinnell College leads both the Men's and Women's standings at the meet, which is being held at Boldt Natatorium in the Buchanan Kiewit Recreation Center on the Lawrence University campus.
Duvall captured the 100 Fly in :52.69, just .25 off his own school record in the event. He also finished fourth in the 100 Back in :54.15.
Gregory Schalla finished sixth in the 400 IM, touching the wall in 4:34.57.
Marin Matchinske-Brehmer led the Women on Saturday with a seventh place in the 100 Fly, coming in in 1:03.15.
The Men's 200 Medley Relay finished sixth and the 800 Free Relay seventh while the Women's 800 Free Relay was sixth and the 200 Medley Relay seventh.
The Women's 800 Free Relay of Katie Wolf, Emily Law, Connie Meltzer and Matchinske-Brehmer set a Beloit record with a time of 8:43.56.
The Championships conclude on Sunday, with prelims beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the finals at 4:00 p.m.
