Buccaneers Fall Twice at UW-Platteville

Platteville, WI -- The Beloit College Softball team dropped a doubleheader at UW-Platteville on Tuesday night, falling 7-2 and 12-4.

In game one, the Pioneers scored an unearned run in the first and then added two in the third and three in the fourth.

The Bucs got both of their runs in the seventh, with Lisa McClure getting an RBI single and Nicole Oddo doubling in the second run.

Sarah Stariha had two hits for the Buccaneers.

Beloit struck first in the second game, scoring four runs on one hit and three UWP errors in the top of the opening inning. McKenzie Falker had an RBI on a suicide squeeze and Allegera Stanton had an RBI grounder.

But UW-Platteville scored three in the bottom of the inning and tied the game at 4-all in the second.

The Pioneers took the lead with a four-run fifth and then sealed it with a walk-off grand slam in the sixth.

The Buccaneers continue their busy week on Thursday when they host Viterbo University at the Strong Complex Field at 3:00 p.m. They open Midwest Conference play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against St. Norbert College at home.
