Monmouth, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team got a big game from Silas Connelly and defeated Monmouth College 3-2 in overtime in Monmouth, Illinois, on Saturday.

The win puts Beloit in position to clinch a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament with a win at Illinois College on Sunday. Game time is at 1:30 p.m.

After a scoreless first half Monmouth broke through just over a minute into the second half. But the Bucs came right back, with Marc Robinson tying it up at 68:15.

Connelly gave the Buccaneers the lead five minutes later but Monmouth forced the extra time five minutes after that.

The teams played a scoreless first overtime period and were in the last five minutes of the second and final OT when Connelly scored his second goal of the game, and the game-winner, at the 106:00 mark.

Nathan Lipps made five saves for the win in net.
