Beloit, WI -- The last thing anybody wanted on a cold and rainy Friday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field was overtime but that's what they got as the Beloit College Men's Soccer team played to a 2-all draw with Grinnell College in a Midwest Conference game.
Brian Maunze got the Bucs on the board first, shooting the ball through a crowd after a scramble at 10:41 of the game. It stayed that way into halftime as the rain started coming down.
Grinnell got things even six minutes into the second half but Marc Robinson regained the lead for Beloit at 65:40, assisted by Maunze.
The Pioneers evened it up at the 79:00 mark to force the extra sessions.
The Buccaneers got six shots off in the two ten-minute overtimes to GC's three but couldn't find the back of the next.
Nathan Lipps finished with six saves for the Bucs.
Beloit has some time off now before getting back on the field next Saturday, October 10, when they host Marian University in a 1:00 p.m. game at the Strong Complex
