Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team knew if they kept working hard that first win would come. And it did on Tuesday night in Flood Arena with a 73-64 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Patrick Kenny led four Buccaneers in double figures with 24 points and also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Travis Towns and David Bremner each added 14 while Derek Lovgren had 11.
Kenny's 10-11 shooting from the field (90.9%) was the second-highest individual field goal percentage game in Flood Arena history.
The game was close throu the first half, with Beloit grabbing the largest lead by either team at 17-11 seven minutes in. The Bucs led 35-32 at the break on a three-pointer by Kenny three seconds before the buzzer.
The Buccaneers maintained the slim lead thru the first 15 minutes of the second half before putting some distance between them and the Raiders.
The Bucs led 58-55 with 6:14 left in regulation before going on an 11-4 run over the next five minutes that put them up ten at 69-59 with 1:22 remaining. They pushed the lead to 12 with 19 seconds left.
The Buccaneers now have a short break for Thanksgiving before getting back on the court on Saturday when they host the University of Dubuque at Flood Arena. Tip off is at 3:00 p.m.
