Buccaneer Men Picked 9th in MWC Pre-Season Coaches Poll

Ripon, WI -- Midwest Conference coaches have picked the Beloit College Men's Basketball team to finish ninth in the Midwest Conference Pre-Season Coaches Poll, which was released by the Conference office on Monday.

St. Norbert College is picked to take the title, receiving four first-place votes. Carroll University, picked for second, actually received more first-place votes than the Green Knights, taking the remaining six.

Ripon College is slotted third followed by Lake Forest College, defending 2007-08 co-Champion and Tournament Champion Lawrence University, 07-08 co-Champion Grinnell College, Monmouth College, Illinois College and the Bucs. Knox College is picked for tenth.

Beloit finished 4-19 last season, 2-14 in the league, under head coach Brian Vraney, who begins his third season in 09-10.

The Bucs open their 2009-10 season on Sunday, November 15, at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They make their home debut on Saturday, November 21, when they host Benedictine University in a 3:00 p.m. game in Flood Arena.
