Buccaneers Get #6 Spot in MWC Pre-Season Poll

Ripon, WI -- The Beloit College Football team has been projected for a sixth place finish in a vote of league coaches for the 2009 Midwest Conference Preseason Football poll. The poll was released by the conference office this afternoon.

The Bucs are ahead of Lake Forest College, Knox College, Grinnell College and Lawrence University, who fell seventh to tenth, respectively.

Defending Champion and nationally-ranked Monmouth College received eight first-place votes to hold down the top spot. St. Norbert College grabbed the other first-place votes and are second, following by Ripon, Carroll, Illinois College and Beloit.

Beloit, who went 5-5 during the 2008 season, open 2009 at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, on Saturday, September 5. They open their home schedule and MWC play on Saturday, September 12, when they welcome Carroll University into Strong Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
