Beloit College today announced plans to return its track and field program to national prominence (and home competition), add two NCAA Division III lacrosse teams to its varsity sports offerings, and replace its main stadium turf with an artificial surface. Beloit, which will field both men’s and women’s lacrosse squads, will be the first in the Midwest Conference to host the sport at the varsity level, and just the second program in the 14-school Associated Colleges of the Midwest, joining Colorado College.

Forty-two Buccaneer student-athletes have earned mention on the 2010-11 Winter Academic All-Midwest Conference team, as released by the Conference Office on Thursday.

The Beloit College Baseball team had their eyes on a comeback to win their Spring Trip finale on Saturday but fell short in a 3-2 loss to Vassar College.
The result ends the Bucs' trip with a 4-3 record.

The Beloit College Softball team fought through a long last day on the Spring Trip, falling three times to finish up 2-7 at the Rebel Spring Games.
The Bucs lost to Albion 2-0, Simpson 15-0 and Bluffton 8-0 on Friday.

The Beloit College Baseball team enjoyed their unscheduled off-day on Thursday and came out with bats blazing on Friday, resulting in an 18-0, 20-2 sweep of Northland College of Wisconsin.
