  • Buccaneers Go 2-1 on First Day of MWC Classic

    The Beloit College Softball team went 2-1 on the opening day of the 2010 Midwest Conference Softball Classic, being played at Dawson Park in Janesville.

    Beloit defeated Monmouth College 2-1 in the opener, fell to Grinnell College 9-3 in their second game and then shut out Knox College 5-0 in the nightcap.

    The Beloit College Baseball team dropped a pair of games at Ripon College on Saturday as both teams opened the Midwest Conference schedule, losing 4-0 and 15-8.

    Andrew Heer, a senior designated hitter for the Beloit College Baseball team from Wheeling, Illinois, has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for his play from March 29 thru April 4.

  • Buccaneers Get Back on Track at Chicago; Both Teams Finish Third

    After a long break, the Beloit College Track & Field team finally got back out on the track, competing at the University of Chicago Ted Hayden Classic on Saturday.

    Both teams finished third out of 11 competing teams.

    The Beloit College Softball team dropped a pair of games to St. Norbert College as both teams opened Midwest Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

    SNC won game one 5-2 and game two 16-3.

    The Beloit College Baseball team put together a nine-run eighth inning in game two of a doubleheader with Washington University of St. Louis on the way to a 14-6 win and a split. Wash U. held on to win game one 8-7.

    The Beloit College Softball team rebounded from a tough opening-game loss to get a split of their doubleheader with Viterbo University on Wednesday afternoon, winning the second game 7-5. The Buccaneers had dropped the opener 2-1 in 10 innings.

    The Beloit College Baseball team got their bats going on Saturday afternoon at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium, sweeping a doubleheader from Milwaukee School of Engineering 9-4 and 15-1.
