Waukesha, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team turned in a dominating opening half on the way to a 4-0 win over Lawrence University in the Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Tournament semifinals on Friday.
The win puts the Buccaneers in the Tournament Championship match against host and MWC Champion Carroll University on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
The win avenged a controversial 2-1 overtime loss to Lawrence in Appleton back on October 15.
Beloit left no doubt with three first-half goals. Jackson Wilkins got things going just over 12 minutes in off an assist from Tom Slusher. Marc Robinson scored at 33:22 off a pass from Ryan Munger and then tallied a second time with a minute left in the half unassisted to put Beloit up 3-0 after 45 minutes.
Tony Racine closed out the scoring with an assist from Slusher at 70:54.
BJ Kiser made three saves in net for his fourth shutout of the season.
The Buccaneers are looking for their first MWC Tournament Championship. They dropped a 5-1 decision at Carroll back on September 28, with Wilkins getting the lone Beloit score.
The appearance in the title match marks the second straight time they've played for the automatic NCAA Division III berth. They fell to Grinnell College in a shootout back in 2009.
