Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team saw a key call go the other way and Lawrence University converted in overtime in a 2-1 loss on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings scored the match's first goal at 32:01 but Tom Slusher got the Buccaneers back even at 38:41.
It stayed that way for the next 50-plus minutes to force the extra time. Four minutes into overtime a foul was called on the Bucs that resulted in a penalty kick and LU converted for the win.
The defeat snapped a three-game Midwest Conference winning streak for Beloit.
The Buccaneers stay on the road for their next game, a non-conference match at Maranatha Baptist College in Watertown, Wisconsin, on Tuesday. Action begins at 3:00 p.m.
