Ripon, WI -- Tom Slusher, a senior midfielder for the Beloit College Men's Soccer team from Mt. Prospect, Illinois/Prospect, has earned Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending October 9. The Conference Office released the award on Monday afternoon.
Slusher helped propel the Bucs into a first-place tie in the MWC with a pair of game-winning goals last week.
On Wednesday Slusher scored the only goal of the match in a 1-0 win over Lake Forest, LFC’s first loss of the season. This past Saturday he put Beloit up for good with a goal six minutes into the match on the way to a 4-1 win over St. Norbert.
The Bucs are 5-5-1 overall, 4-1-0 in MWC play and tied atop the Conference with Carroll University. Both teams have 12 points heading into the week.
Beloit has the week off before returning to the pitch on Saturday at Lawrence University in Appleton. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
