Bucs Hand Lake Forest 1st Loss with Key MWC Win

October 5, 2011 at 7:11 pm

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team handed Lake Forest College their first loss of the season and grabbed a big Midwest Conference victory on Wednesday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field with a 1-0 win.

Tom Slusher provided the Buccaneers all the scoring they'd need when he scrambled for the ball against two defenders and put a shot in the back of the goal just 1:30 into the second half.

Beloit made that goal stand up with outstanding defense and an 18-15 advantage in shots, including 8-6 in the second half.

BJ Kiser stopped all five shots he faced on goal for his third shutout of the season and his second in four MWC games.

The Buccaneers look to keep their MWC momentum going on Saturday afternoon when they host St. Norbert College at 3:30 p.m. at the Strong Complex Field.
