Robinson's Four Goals Lead Buccaneers Past Knox

October 2, 2011 at 7:15 pm

Galesburg, IL -- Marc Robinson and Jackson Wilkins worked together like a machine on Sunday afternoon at Knox College.  And the result was a 5-0 Midwest Conference win for the Beloit College Men's Soccer team.

Robinson scored four goals and added an assist while Wilkins had a goal and three assists to lead the Bucs to their second MWC win in three games.

It's the second time in Robinson's Beloit career that he put four goals in the net.  He also did it on October 10, 2009, against Marian University.

Robinson got things going just over a minute into the match off an assist by Wilkins.  He added goal #2, assisted by Wilkins, at 42:06 to give the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead at the break.

Goal #3 for Robinson came at the 49:56 mark, assisted again by Wilkins, to make it 3-0.  The two switched things up at 56:19 when Wilkins scored off an assist by Robinson.

Robinson closed out the scoring with his fourth goal at 58:17, unassisted.

BJ Kiser made one save for the win in net.  Beloit out-shot the Prairie Fire 13-4, including 11-1 in shots on goal.

The Bucs will look to continue their winning momentum on Wednesday when they host Lake Forest College on Wednesday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.  Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
