Buccaneer Men’s Soccer Tabbed Seventh in MWC Preseason Poll

Ripon, WI – The Beloit College Men’s Soccer team has been picked seventh in the Midwest Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.  The poll was released by the Conference Office today.

2010 MWC Tournament Champion Carroll University garnered five first-place votes to earn the top spot followed by defending MWC Champion Ripon College, who received three first-place votes.

Lake Forest College received the final first-place vote and was third followed by Grinnell, Lawrence, St. Norbert, the Bucs, Monmouth, Illinois College and Knox.

The Bucs finished 8-9-0 overall last season, including 3-6-0 in the MWC.

Tim Schmiechen begins his 22nd season as head coach when Beloit opens season on Thursday, September 1, against Wisconsin Lutheran College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field at 4:30 p.m..  The open MWC play on Saturday, September 24, against Ripon at the Strong Complex.
