The Beloit College Men’s Soccer team has been recognized as one of 196 Men’s squads nationwide to earn the National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, the organization has announced.
The honor is for the 2009-10 academic year.
Under head coach Tim Schmiechen, who completed his 21st season in the Fall of 2010, the Buccaneers had a cumulative 3.28 grade-point-average. Their GPA was the highest among the three Midwest Conference teams who received the award (Grinnell 3.23, Lawrence 3.14).
A total of 640 soccer teams (196 men, 444 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, to earn the honor.
