Beloit, WI -- Close losses are becoming very annoying for the Beloit College Men's Soccer team on the heals of Friday's 2-1 setback against Milwaukee School of Engineering at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Beloit has dropped four of its last five, three of the four losses by one goal, two in overtime.
The Buccaneers attempted to come back from two missed penalty kicks and a 2-0 deficit late but Jackson Wilkin's goal at the 79:00 mark, assisted by Duncan Gillis and Silas Connelly, was as close as they could get.
MSOE struck early in the contest, getting a break-away goal two minutes in and held that lead at the break. They made it 2-0 three minutes into the second half and then withstood seven shots on goal the rest of the half to hold on.
Michael Kreiser made six saves in net for the Bucs.
Beloit has a short time to think about it as they get back on the pitch Saturday afternoon, hosting Maranatha Baptist Bible College in a 1:00 p.m. game at the Strong Complex.
