Beloit, WI -- For the second time in eight days, the Beloit Men's Soccer team absorbed a tough Midwest Conference overtime loss, this time 1-0 to Monmouth College at the Strong Complex Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Buccaneers out-shot the Fighting Scots by a 31-10 margin but couldn't get what would have been the game-winner. Included was a missed penalty kick shot.
Scoreless through the regulation 90 minutes and the first ten-minute overtime period, Monmouth finally broke through in the 104th minute off an indirect kick, just slipping it into the left side of the Beloit goal.
Michael Kreiser made six saves in net for the Bucs.
Beloit has a pair of non-conference home games next weekend, hosting Milwaukee School of Engineering at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Maranatha Baptist Bible College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
