Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday as Lawrence University scored a late goal and held on for a 2-1 Midwest Conference-opening win.
Tom Slusher put the Bucs up in the 12th minute on an assist from Silas Connelly. But LU scored at the 32:29 mark to even it at 1-all at halftime.
After 31 scoreless minutes of the second half, the Vikings got the deciding goal in the 78th minute for the win.
Michael Kreiser made six saves in net for the Buccaneers.
Beloit is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Concordia University in Mequon for a 4:30 p.m. game.
