Beloit, WI -- For the Beloit College Men's Soccer team, playing their home opener on Wednesday against Rockford College, it was all about converting penalty kicks. The Bucs did just that in a 3-0 win at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
First Silas Connelly converted at the 17:29 mark to put Beloit on the board. Marc Robinson tallied in the same fashion 16 minutes later to make it 2-0, a lead they held at the break.
The Bucs got a goal the old-fashioned way at 63:24 when Ryan Munger got his first collegiate goal off an assist from Jackson Wilkins to close out the scoring.
Beloit dominated the stat sheet throughout the match, out-shooting the Regents 26-7, including 14-4 on shots on goal. They also had 11 corner kicks to Rockford's two.
Michael Kreiser made four saves in net to record his first collegiate shutout.
The Buccaneers now look to Saturday when they travel to Appleton, Wisconsin, for their Midwest Conference opener against Lawrence University. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
