Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team finished up a hectic opening week of the season with a win on Saturday afternoon, topping Cornell College 2-0 at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
The teams played scoreless through the opening half, thought Beloit held a 12-3 edge in shots on goal.
Tom Slusher broke the tie three minutes into the second half with a header off a pass from Silas Connelly.
Evan Boyle added some insurance with less than ten minutes remaining off an assist by Bo Wilkins.
Nathan Lipps had three saves in net for the shutout.
The Buccaneers have a few days off before getting back on the field on Wednesday night at Edgewood College in Madison. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
