Milwaukee, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team left no doubt early as to the final result of their game at Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday night, finishing with a 17-2 win.
Beloit shut down the Raiders for the first three-plus periods, scoring six in the first, four in the second, five in the third and the first two of the fourth before MSOE got on the board with four minutes remaining.
Austin Hyatt and Jacob Pritcher each had a pair of goals with Liam O'Connor and Tommy Porkka adding one each as the Buccaneers got off to the fast start. Zach Carner had two in the second period in addition to Hyatt's third of the game and a score by Matt Kelly to make it 10-0 at halftime.
Five players - O'Connor, Aidan Whinnery, Carner, Kelly and Hyatt - scored in the third period to give the Bucs a 15-0 advantage heading to the final period. O'Connor and Whinnery made it 17-0 in the fourth before MSOE scored twice in the final 4:17 to close out the scoring.
Hyatt finished with four goals and Carner with three. O'Connor had three goals and two assists while Whinnery scored twice and added seven assists. Trevor Kenahan made three saves in 37 minutes in net while both Tommy Otis and Jace Hodder each had one save in relief.
Beloit returns to Strong Stadium for the first time in over two weeks on Monday afternoon when they host Transylvania University in a 4:30 p.m. game.
