Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team snapped a two-game slide with a dominating 14-1 win over Calvin College on Saturday afternoon at Strong Stadium.
The Buccaneers left no doubt for the final result in the opening half, out-scoring the Knights 8-0 while allowing just one shot on goal. Austin Hyatt scored the only goal Beloit would need at 12:44 of the first period. In total, Aidan Whinnery had three goals, Tommy Porkka two, and Liam O'Connor and Jacob Pritcher one each to go along with Hyatt's score.
The second half was much the same as the Buccaneers stretched their lead to 11-0 before Calvin got on the board with five minutes left in the third. Whinnery added two more goals, as did Pritcher while Zach Carner scored twice in the half and Matt Kelly added one.
Whinnery finished with five goals and three assists. Kelly added two assists to his goal. Trevor Kenahan made four saves in two-plus periods and was followed by Jace Hodder (one save) and Tommy Otis (two saves). Beloit had a decided 41-16 advantage in shots, including 22-7 in shots on goal.
The Bucs hit the road on Wednesday, playing at Concordia University in Mequon at 4:00 p.m.
