Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team completed their first season on Friday night at Strong Stadium in grand style, fighting off the cold and occasional snow and sleet for an 18-8 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The win puts the Bucs' final record at 6-6.
Ryan Hazuka scored nine goals while Jacob Pritscher added four. Liam O'Connor had four assists and Aidan Whinnery three.
Beloit jumped on top with the first four goals of the game, two by Whinnery, before the Raiders scored twice in the final 2:17 to make it 4-2 thru one. The Bucs got it going again in the second period with another four-goal run, two by Hazuka, before MSOE again tacked on their third and fourth of the game. With under two minutes left before the break goaltender Trevor Kenahan decided to get in on the scoring and ran the length of the field virtually untouched to score unassisted at the 1:41 mark to give the Buccaneers a 10-4 lead at halftime.
Beloit opened the third quarter with three goals in 2:15, two more by Hazuka, before MSOE broke the string. The teams traded the next four goals before O'Connor scored with 40 seconds left to make it 16-6 after three. The Raiders scored the first two goals of the fourth period before two tallies from Hazuka and the final one from Pritscher with 4:36 remaining closed it out.
Jace Hodder got the win in goal, making five saves. Kenahan had two saves and Jacob Mayer four.
