Beloit, WI -- James Lazarcik, a senior forward for the Beloit College Men's Basketball team from La Crescent, Minnesota, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 6 Men's Basketball team for the second straight season. The recognition was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.
Lazarcik, averaging 18.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and shooting an NCAA Division III-leading 71.7% from the field through last weekend's games, was one of five players named to the Division III District 6 team. District 6 comprises colleges and universities in Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, North and South Dakota, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Lazarcik, carrying a 3.78 gpa in Chemistry, now advances to the national ballot, which will be announced between February 17-20. He was a Second Team Academic All-American in 2012-13.
Also named to the 2013-14 All-District 6 team were Mark Ghafari of Kalamazoo College; Kyle Zimmerman of Bethel University; Taylor Hanson of Carleton College; and Adam Peters of Kalamazoo College.
