Milwaukee, WI -- The Winter storm hitting Wisconsin was the least of the worries for the Beloit College Men's Basketball team on Thursday night as they saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in a 56-52 loss at Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The Raiders got out of the gate quickly and built their lead as high as eight points.  Beloit kept chipping away and tied it at 25-25 on Steve McAfee's three-pointer with 5:30 left.  Chris Bremner hit a three less than a minute later to give the Buccaneers their first lead of the game.  But MSOE hit a pair of jumpers in the final minute to lead 31-28 at the half.

The game stayed close thru most of the second half, including five ties, before MSOE put together a 9-2 run to grab a 54-47 advantage with 2:27 remaining.  Again the Bucs came back and were within two with 10.6 seconds left but a steal and two free throws sealed the outcome.

James Lazarcik had 20 points and nine rebounds while Ahmad Shamsid-Deen added 12 and McAfee ten.

Beloit is now off for the Holidays before getting back at it on Wednesday, January 2, at Grinnell College in a 7:00 p.m. tip.
