How did you find out about Beloit? Did you know a lot about Beloit when you first visited campus?

“I found out about Beloit College from Cecil Youngblood who was the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the time and to be honest, I didn’t know anything about the college other than what Coach Youngblood had told me in our meetings from when he would come see my high school basketball games.  I knew it was a prestigious academic school but other than that, I knew very little.”

We are focusing a lot on Liberal Arts in Practice at Beloit; so as part of what you practice(d) name one aspect that you took away(will take) from being a Beloit student-athlete that you use in your everyday life.

“DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE!!!  I can’t remember a week going by where Jerry Gustafson didn’t use this term in one of his classes.  In the business world, you should always research or investigate how a specific market or business it doing before getting involved and going in blind.  As the General Manager of a health club, it’s my job to know who my competition is and what they are doing as far as promotional offers and what’s new in fitness and weight loss so I can keep my gym ahead of the competition.”

What (if any) accolades did you receive (Academically/Athletically) while being a student-athlete?

“I was a 2 Time Team Captain, 2 Time All Conference 1st Team recipient, 2 Time Ron Bontemps Most Valuable Player award winner, 1,000 point club as well as #7 All-time in Scoring, Recipient of the Beloit Blanket, and Lead the MWC in Rebounding for 2 seasons.

If you could name one class or professor (mentor) that really meant something to you while at Beloit, who or what would that be?

“I would definitely have to say that Jerry Gustafson was the single biggest influence during my time at Beloit.   He always went beyond the scope of just the class lecture and gave real world lessons and advice.  I don’t recall a single topic of during our many discussions that Jerry wasn’t well versed and knowledgeable about.  He is the single reason I WILL own my own business someday.”

Name one of the most rewarding experiences you took part in while at Beloit College?

“One of the most rewarding experiences for me at Beloit was being a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. It was like living in a house with 36 of my best friends and I couldn’t imagine spending 4 years at any college and not having that.”

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? - Name a career goal/aspiration you strive for.

“I see myself running strength and conditioning facility for college and elite high school athletes and I want to publish my own strength and conditioning program for professional athletes.”

“In ONE word I would sum up Beloit College as- Unique.”
