Ripon, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team couldn't hit their shots in the opening half while Ripon College hit most of theirs, leading to an 86-61 Buccaneer loss in the final game of the 2010-11 season.
The Bucs shot just 19.4% (7-36) from the field in the first 20 minutes (and 31% for the game), while RC hit on 56.7% of their first-half shots (17-30) to set the tone early.
The Red Hawks jumped out to a 13-3 lead less than four minutes in and built it to 23-8 at the 7:45 mark. They led 45-23 at the break.
Ripon increased their lead to 47-23 11 seconds into the second half before the Buccaneers went on an extended 26-7 run to pull back with ten at 59-49 with 9:41 remaining. Beloit got within nine with six minutes left but RC closed the game on a 21-5 run to secure the win.
The Buccaneers finished the season 9-14 overall, 8-10 in the Midwest Conference.
Patrick Kenny, the lone senior on the squad, had ten points in his final game as a Buccaneer. David Bremner, Joe Poshepny and Steve Dowden each added eight points.
