The Beloit College Women’s and Men’s Basketball teams, with support from the Midwest Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and in conjunction with the entire Midwest Conference, will continue efforts to raise cancer awareness by participating in the “Play for the Cure” initiative during their games this weekend.
In partnership with foundations such as "Susan G. Komen For The Cure," "Kay Yow Cancer Fund," "The American Cancer Society's Coaches Versus Cancer" and various local charities and hospitals focused on cancer research, "Midwest Conference Play for the Cure" games are dedicated to the awareness and fund-raising efforts of these important organizations.
The Buccaneer Women will have their “Play for the Cure” game on Friday when they host Lake Forest College at 5:30 p.m. in Flood Arena. The Buccaneer Men will have their game on Saturday when they host Lawrence University at 4:00 p.m.
To raise awareness for the cause and in recognition of "Play for the Cure" players will wear pink during their pre-game warm-ups.
