Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team celebrated their return to Flood Arena after more than a month away with a hard-fought 119-108 win over Grinnell College in front of 500-plus loud fans on Friday night.

Several Flood Arena records fell or were threatened in the contest.  The Bucs' 119 points were the third-most scored by a team in Flood while the 237 combined points set a new Flood Arena record.  The previous mark was also, surprisingly, a Beloit/Grinnell game in 2008 (GC won 131-104).  Beloit's 70.6% shooting for the game (48-68) is the fourth-best mark in history and Grinnell's 20 three-pointers (of 60) was the third-most.

Records aside, is was quite a game.

The Pioneers led by as many as ten in the first half, the last time at the 9:34 mark.  But an 18-8 Buccaneer run brought them back to even at 39-all with 4:05 left and then they closed the half with a 10-6 run to lead 49-45 at the break.

A David Bremner layin at the 1:22 mark put Beloit up for good.  Bremner had 19 first-half points while James Lazarcik had 11.

The Buccaneers pushed their lead to ten at 63-53 four minutes into the second half before GC cut it back to six two minutes later.  Beloit then took control with a 28-12 run over the next eight minutes that gave them their largest lead of the game at 99-77 with 5:49 remaining.

Hitting some three-pointers down the stretch brought Grinnell closer but the 11-point final margin was as close as they'd get.

Bremner finished with a career-high 34 points while Lazarcik also had a career-high with 26 while grabbing 11 rebounds.  Travis Towns added 24 points, 17 in the second half, and Grant Henricksen had a career-high 15.  Michael Horton didn't score but had a career-best 11 rebounds and also dished out eight assists.

The Bucs look for the MWC weekend sweep on Saturday afternoon when they host Knox College on Hall of Honor Day.  Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m.
