Lake Forest, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team fell behind late in the first half and could never catch up as they dropped a 63-49 decision at Lake Forest College on Saturday.
The teams played close throughout most of the opening half, with the Bucs getting a five-point advantage for their largest lead midway through. LFC finally grabbed the upper hand and never looked back, turning a 21-21 tie with 5:18 remaining into a 31-24 lead less than four minutes later. The Foresters led 33-28 at the break.
Lake Forest steadily pulled away in the second half and Beloit could never sustain a rally. LFC jumped up by ten just over a minute in and kept that double-figure lead. The Buccaneers never got closer than 11 at 57-46 with 2:21 left. The biggest deficit was 63-46 with 35 seconds left.
Patrick Kenny led the Bucs with 20 points while Joe Poshepny added ten.
Beloit returns home for the first time since December 18 when they host Grinnell College on Friday in Flood Arena. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m.
