December 31, 2010 at 5:11 pm

Austin, TX -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team held an early lead but couldn't survive a mid-game run by the host team and fell 73-60 to Concordia University to close out their two-game Texas road trip on Friday.

The Buccaneers jumped out to a 9-3 lead four minutes into the game and led 16-6 at the 12:24 mark.  But CTX pulled back to within two with 6:30 left at 23-21 run.

Beloit got their largest lead at 35-24 after a four-minute 12-3 run.  Again the host Tornados came back, going on a 9-0 run to close the half with the Bucs still leading 35-33.

Concordia continued their run in the second half, expanding their lead to 51-42 eight minutes in.  The Buccaneers slowly sliced into the deficit and pulled to within three several times, the last with 4:30 left at 62-59.  But the Tornados out-scored Beloit 11-1 from that point to the buzzer to win going away.

David Bremner had a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds to lead the way.  Patrick Kenny added ten points.

The Buccaneers return to Midwest Conference action on January 5 at Grinnell College, with tipoff coming at 7:00 p.m.
