Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team couldn't rebound from an early deficit and fell to Illinois College74-62 in Flood Arena on Saturday afternoon.
IC started hot and raced to a 7-0 lead in the first two-plus minutes before the Buccaneers used a 7-2 run of their own to pull back within two at 9-7 five minutes in to the opening half. Beloit would get no closer than 11-9 for the rest of the half as the Blueboys steadily built their advantage, with the halftime spread of 35-25 being the largest.
The Buccaneers got as close as six points at 44-38 five minutes into the second half before Illinois College got their lead back up to double figures. The largest IC lead was 14 with 20 seconds left as Beloit got no closer than eight the rest of the way.
David Bremner had 17 points to lead the way while Patrick Kenny added 14. Michael Horton had nine with seven assists. Grant Henricksen had a career and game-high 11 rebounds.
The Buccaneers need to regroup quickly as eighth-ranked St. Norbert College comes to Flood Arena on Wednesday night. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m.
