Sheboygan, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team closed out the 2009 portion of their 09-10 schedule on a good note with a 69-63 win at Lakeland College on Saturday afternoon.

The Buccaneers secured the win in the last 33 seconds by hitting seven of eight free throws to hold off the Muskies, who had pulled to within one point with 35 seconds remaining.

The first half was tight the whole way, with Beloit holding an 11-5 lead six minutes in only to see LC battle back. The 30-30 halftime score was the sixth tie of the first 20 minutes.

The score remained tight through the first 15 minutes of the second half, with the teams exchanging small leads. The deciding point came with Lakeland leading 52-51 with 5:17 left. The Buccaneers went on a 7-0 to take the lead over the next two minutes and never gave it up, sealing it with the charity tosses at the end.

David Bremner led four Bucs in double figures with 15 points. Derek Carrier had 14, Travis Towns 12 and Patrick Kenny 11.

Beloit can now celebrate the Holidays before returning to action in the new year when they host Rockford College on Saturday, January 2, at 3:00 p.m. in Flood Arena.
