Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Football team dropped a 38-14 decision at Lawrence University Saturday night in a Midwest Conference game.
The Vikings got a field early in the first quarter to jump on top and then scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to move in front 24-0. The Bucs got on the board 20 seconds before halftime when Zach Draus ran in from five yards out to make it 24-6.
LU added scores in the third and fourth quarter to lead 38-6. Will Coyne closed out the scoring with a one-yard sneak with 9:56 remaining. He then hit Eddie Boyd with a two-point conversion pass to close out the scoring.
Draus finished with a career-high 139 yards rushing on 19 carries, his second career 100-yard game. Coyne threw for 164 yards and Dillon Hess caught five passes for 101 yards.
On defense, Derrell Carter had six tackles, all solo, and also recorded the lone sack for Beloit and intercepted a pass, returning it 23 yards.
Beloit starts a two-game homestand next Saturday when they host Grinnell College at Strong Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.
