Tony Baratti, a senior linebacker for the Beloit College Football team from Arlington Heights, Illinois, has been named to the D3Football.com All-West Region Team. The website announced its All-Region teams on Thursday morning.
Andrew Christensen, a senior wide receiver/running back from Janesville, Wisconsin, and Derek Carrier, a junior wide receiver from Edgerton, Wisconsin, were both named to the Third Team. Christensen was named as a return specialist.
Baratti, a three-time First Team All-Midwest Conference selection, was the MWC’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year this season. He led the MWC in tackles with 110, the third season he topped the century mark, and was second in tackles for loss with 15.5. He finished his career at Beloit as the program’s all-time leader in tackles with 434. He was also named Beloit’s MVP for the third straight season.
Christensen, a two-time First Team All-MWC performer and five-time honoree, completed his career as Beloit’s all-time leader in kickoff return yardage with 2,389 and was second in career all-purpose yardage with 4,549. He was third in the league in all-purpose yardage this season with 136.4 yards per game. He also had two kickoff return touchdowns, which gave him 22 career TDs by rushing, receiving or kick returns.
Carrier, who earned First Team All-MWC honors this season after being Honorable Mention in 2009, led the Buccaneers in receiving this past season with 64 catches for 1,044 yards and a Beloit single-season record 12 touchdowns. He was second in the MWC in receiving yards per game, third in receptions per game and fourth in scoring. Heading into his senior season he ranks second all-time in receiving TDs with 17 and third in both receptions (114) and receiving yards (1,861).
