Ripon, WI -- Brian Maughn, a junior quarterback from Sunrise, Florida (Western), has been named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week , which includes games of September 11. The Conference Office announced the honor this afternoon.
Maughn was 28-36 passing for 357 yards, an interception and three touchdowns as the Buccaneers snapped an 11-game losing streak to St. Norbert College in last Saturday’s 34-31 win.
His 28 completions broke the Beloit single-game record he set last season at Illinois College. It was his sixth 300-yard passing game, the second in as many games this season, and the seventh time he’s thrown three touchdown passes in a game, including both games this season.
He is now tied for fifth in career passing TDs with 25 (Joe Herfel, 1998-2001), and is just 16 yards away from taking over the #5 career spot in passing yardage (Jeremy Warren, 3,368, 1993-95).
