Green Bay, WI -- The Beloit College Cross Country team competed at the Midwest Conference Championships at Colburn Park in Green Bay on Saturday with the Women finished seventh and the Men ninth.
Anna Wenzel led the Women with a 28th followed by Karen Jones in 40th, Sara DeLong in 43rd, Camilla Jackson in 50th and Geneva Schulz-Welo in 62nd.
"Our women were fantastic," said head coach Dave Eckburg. "Their 1-5 spread was really good. They ran well."
The Men were led by Joseph Skurski in 44th. Matej Jungwirth was 58th, Ethan Ley 59th, Turner Smith 78th and George Gray 83rd.
"Going without our #2 runner was tough," said Eckburg. "The freshmen really stepped up. Adam Beardsley (who was the sixth runner across for Beloit) had nearly a two-minute personal-best and Gray really held the mid-pack together. Smith and Ley put together fine races."
The Bucs have a couple of weeks before competing at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional in Oshkosh on November 10.
