Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Baseball team ended a three-week wait to get back on the field but were disappointed in a doubleheader loss at Knox College on Saturday, falling 16-9 and 6-5.

In the opener Knox scored once in the first before putting up seven runs in the second inning to go up 8-0.  Beloit got three back in the third on Will Mack's two-run single and an RBI single by Grant Henricksen.  After the Prairie Fire got a run back in the fourth the Bucs inched closer with three more runs in the top of the fifth.  Ethan Blumenthal had an RBI fielder's choice, Mike Parrott scored on an error and Jerrick Habecker had a run-scoring single to make it a 9-6 game.  But Knox got all three runs back in the bottom of the inning and the added four more runs in the seventh to make it a 16-6 game.

Beloit closed out the scoring within a three-run eighth.  Blementhal singled in a run, Habecker had an RBI fielder's Choice and the Blumenthal scored on an error.

Blumenthal, Henricksen and Parrott all had two hits.

In game two the Buccaneers jumped on top with three in the top of the first, all on Henricksen's first career home run.  They added two more in the second when Matt Meade singled in Parrott, who had tripled, and then Meade came around to score on a wild pitch to make it 5-0.  KC got on the board with two runs in the fifth to pull within 5-2.

The Prairie Fire won the game in the bottom of the ninth with four runs on five hits and an error.

Sean Little had three hits in the game.
