BUCCANEERS HEAD BACK TO MWC TOURNAMENT
Beloit College is head back to the Midwest Conference Baseball Tournament thanks to some help from a familiar foe.
The appearance for Bucs is their second in as many seasons and third in the last four seasons.
Beloit, who finished the Conference season on April 30 with a split of their MWC series with Ripon, had to sweat out the season-ending series between St. Norbert and Ripon to see what their post-season fortunes were. St. Norbert’s wins in the first three games got the Buccaneers into the Tourney as the #2 seed in the North Division.
The Buccaneers will take on the South Division’s #1 seed, and Tournament host, Grinnell College at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning. St. Norbert, the North’s #1 seed, will play the South’s #2 seed Knox College at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, also at 9:00 a.m., in the other opening game.
After those first two games all games will be played at Grinnell.
The winner of the Tournament earns the MWC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament, which begins on May 16 at eight Regional sites.
