Winter Haven, FL -- The Beloit College Baseball team took on a nationally-ranked club trying to find a way to break their Florida slide and came up just short to #22 Thomas More College of Kentucky in a 4-3 loss on Friday.

Thomas More's #22 rank is according to the March 4 Top 25.

TMC jumped on top in the bottom of the first, putting together a couple of hits and a sac fly to take a 1-0 lead.  The game remained that way until the top of the fifth when the Buccaneers took the lead with two runs.  Sean Little drove in Mitch Dubin with a sacrifice fly to center and then Alex Jennings scored all the way from second on an infield error for a 2-1 advantage.

The Saints came back with two of their own in the bottom of the sixth, getting four hits in the inning.  Beloit evened it up at 3-all in the top of the seventh when Jordan Jaenicke singled in Little before a double play killed a possibly bigger inning.

Thomas More scored what-proved-to-be the winning runs in the bottom of the seventh with a squeeze bunt to score the lead run.  The Bucs went down in order in both the eighth and ninth to seal the win for TMC.

Emory Nelms had a pair of hits for the Buccaneers.  Alex Norman took the tough loss, going eight innings complete while striking out five and walking one.

The Bucs close out their Sping Trip on Saturday with a doubleheader against Becker College of New York starting at 9:00 a.m. in Auburndale.
