Winter Haven, FL -- The Beloit College Baseball team had things going in the right direction on Tuesday before a six-run eighth inning by Wittenberg University wiped the good feelings away in a 10-8 loss.

The Tigers jumped on top in the second but Beloit answered in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single by Emory Nelms.  Wittenberg re-took the lead with two in the third while the Bucs got one in the bottom on Jake Tresemer's sacrifice fly.  WU then made it 4-2 in the fourth.

The Buccaneers looked in control after a big six-run sixth inning, featuring five hits.  Mitch Dubin drove in the first run with a pinch-hit single and Jerrick Habecker followed with another RBI single to tie it up at 4-all.

Will Mack put Beloit on top with a sacrifice fly before Al Loth reached on an error to plate Habecker.  After Jordan Jaenicke walked Tresemer put the icing on the inning with a two-run triple and the Bucs had an 8-4 lead.

But after a quiet seventh Wittenberg exploded for their big eighth inning, putting together six hits, including a three-run home run.

The Buccaneers only base-runner in their final two at-bats was Andrew Edwards, who singled with two outs in the ninth.

Beloit has Wednesday off to regroup before getting back on the field Thursday morning with a single game against Trine University of Indiana in Lakeland.
