Auburndale, FL -- The Beloit College Baseball team finished up their Spring Trip on Saturday morning with a 9-8 win over Aurora University.
The Bucs came from behind early after the Spartans struck for four runs in the top of the first.
Drew Oswald scored Beloit's first run on an error in the second inning before Hunter Nelson cleared the bases with a three-run double to tie it up at 4 apiece.
After AU regained their lead with two runs in the top of the third the Buccaneers grabbed the lead for good with three in the bottom of the inning. Jake Majeski had a fielder's choice RBI and then scored later on a wild pitch to tie it at 6. Nelson then got his fourth RBI with a run-scoring single.
Majeski increased the lead to 8-6 in the fourth with a sacrifice fly and Mike Kovach added another sac fly in the sixth to make it 9-6.
Aurora got two in the eighth to make it close but Kovach shut the door in the ninth for his first save of the season.
Nelson finished with three hits, as did Jon Siil, while Jordan Jaenicke had two.
Jordan DeGeorge survived the tough first inning for his second win of the trip, going seven innings and striking out three.
The Bucs have a couple of weeks off before they open their home schedule on Saturday, March 20, in a doubleheader against Milwaukee School of Engineering at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium. Action begins at 12:00 noon.
